On April 18, 2012, Give Kids The World will celebrate an incomparable milestone in community support—more than 2 million volunteer hours served in one location for a single organization.
That’s equivalent to 228 years, the terms of 57 US presidents or 16,000 four-year college degrees!
This monumental achievement, which will happen during National Volunteer Week, is a rarity among nonprofit organizations. GKTW may be one of only a handful of organizations to achieve this milestone in the United States, if not the world.
Joseph “Joe” Koch began volunteering at Give Kids The World Village in 1990 and to date has completed more than 20,000 hours at the “storybook” resort. #more
Chad Hostetler always believed in service to the community, but it wasn’t until he began volunteering at Give Kids The World Village, that his life took on a new meaning. #more
Henri Landwirth established Give Kids The World (GKTW) in 1986 to bring happiness and hope into the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. #more
