IAAPA Ambassadors Deck the Halls

in The Volunteer Experience

As we begin to deck the Avenue of Angels for the holiday season, every helping hand adds a little more sparkle to the village.  Lucky for us, IAAPA Ambassadors joined us for a day of décor!

IAAPA Ambassadors are students and recent graduates, with outstanding customer service skills, who are handpicked to be interns at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo.   This opportunity grants the students hands on experience in event management, education programs, trade show support, behind the scenes education and a social program that offers priceless networking opportunities.  Plus, the students get to visit Give Kids The World, which is a treat in itself.

We turned up the fun by adding a little competition to the mix, splitting the volunteers into teams to see who could best decorate the gazebos.  The end result was two beautifully decorated gazebos and two winning teams.

Of course, this represents only a fraction of what IAAPA does for Give Kids The World.  Earlier this month, the amusement park industry came together to support GKTW at the IAAPA Expo. Thanks to IAAPA’s attendees and exhibitors’ participation in a motorcycle rally, a golf tournament, a 5k run and by purchasing Chance-To-Win tickets, GKTW received nearly $100,000!

Thank you, IAAPA, for your continued support and generosity!
