in The Donor Experience

Scout_imbWhen Boy Scout, Patrick, first visited the Village during a volunteer trip, he was excited to see a place that had only been described to him. The mission of Give Kids The World was already clear to Patrick, whose friend, Jonathan, had visited the Village for his wish trip.

After returning home to Birmingham, AL., Patrick told his family that he wanted to do more for the Village. With the help of their church, Patrick’s family held an Ice Cream For Breakfast Fundraiser, raising over $600. But Patrick didn’t stop there. He knew how much Jonathan had enjoyed celebrating Halloween and Christmas during his wish trip, and wanted to make sure that these Village traditions continued! Patrick organized a toy and candy drive, collecting over 100 toys and 60 pounds of candy.

Ready to share his hard work with GKTW, Patrick and his family packed their car with donations for a 7-hour journey. When they arrived, GKTW’s Volunteer Team applauded Patrick for his dedication. Thank you, Patrick, for sharing our mission in your community and helping us inspire happiness for all those who visit the Village.
