Here on the blog, we like to share stories of joy and thanks we receive, especially from former wish families. During this holiday season, we have put some of these messages on the back of our holiday cards so everyone who receives one gets to experience a small part of the hope and happiness that Give Kids The World brings into the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses. Our 2013 Holiday Card Collection features seven unique designs, all featuring art by former wish children and their siblings. While the adorable art definitely captures the spirit of the holidays, it’s the letters from each child that truly illustrate the magic that the Village brings to life. We want to share some of the touching quotes from this year’s letters.
“We will never forget the sight of a snoring tree, mushroom carousel, castle of stars and most important of all…dreams coming true!” – Valerie, age 13
“I loved when the bunnies tucked me in bed.” – Aamaria, age 9
“One of my most unforgettable experiences in the Village was Christmas on Thursday with Florida snow, Santa and presents. Thank you Give Kids The World for the most memorable week in my life, one that I’ll never forget.” – Morgan, age 13
“All the volunteers treated me like royalty. They were kind and always ready to help me when I needed.” – Caroline, age 12
“It was a paradise where the answer was always ‘yes!’ Can I have more ice cream? Yes! Can Santa come in October? Yes! Can I go on the merry-go-round again? Yes! I felt like I had the freedom to do anything which was so different from the hospital where I spent many nights over the previous year.” – Ellison, age 10
“It was the most wonderful experience in my life, it marked and changed my life.” – Paola, age 14
