Thankful Thursdays: Ice Cream For Breakfast with Faith

in The Donor Experience, The Family Experience

We often hear from wish families, looking for a way to give back to The Village after their stay.  However, Faith’s family decided they wanted to contribute before they had even arrived.

Weeks before their trip, Faith’s family began working on their own Ice Cream For Breakfast fundraiser.  Thanks to their hard work, and the kindness of local neighbors and companies, the event was a success!  The event even included music, face painting and dancing; after all, Faith loves to dance.

Upon arriving at Give Kids The World, Faith and her siblings, Gabbi and Jackson, couldn’t wait to tell us all about the Ice Cream for Breakfast fundraiser and the $3,500 they had raised.  However, they were quickly distracted by all the fun to be had at The Village.   We met in the Ice Cream Palace for a quick photo and a couple scoops before Faith’s family began their adventure.

By the end of the week, Faith and her family had accomplished a great many things.  Faith joined the Disney Princesses for lunch in Cinderella’s Castle, Gabbi met a dolphin and became hooked on roller coasters, and Jackson met his favorite super heroes at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. We are so incredibly grateful for Faith’s family’s hard work and are thrilled that we had the opportunity to make so many of their wishes come true.

Thank you, Wirick family, for all your hard work!
