The New Year inspires us all to reflect upon the past, embrace the present and renew our hope for the future. Give Kids The World has much to be thankful for. Through the selfless commitment and generous spirit of countless individuals and companies, in 2008 we were able to serve over 6,500 families.
At the Village cares are swept away; families do not have to worry about tomorrow, but instead can experience six days filled with happiness and hope.
This year, 27,000 children will be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Half of these special children will share the same wish – to experience all the magic that Central Florida has to offer. We made a promise over 22 years ago to never turn away a child who wished to visit us. Your continued love and support means that we will always be able to keep that promise.
With Love,
Pamela Landwirth
President
American Airlines and the Something mAAgic Foundation celebrated the 13th Annual Wish Flight at Give Kids The World. As part of the festivities and the foundation's commitment to Give Kids The World, Something mAAgic also presented the Village with the final installment of the three-year pledge that enabled GKTW to build the new Villa. The dedication ceremony took place in the Village's Fairy Tale Forest with members of the Something mAAgic Board of Directors, American Airlines' volunteers and special guest, Miss America 2008, Kirsten Haglund.
