Brea Weiss

Board Chair
AdventHealth for Children

Early in her career, Brea Weiss met a child who would change the course of her career and life. Brea was asked to spend a day with a Make A Wish child, a young boy who had a brain tumor so severe that had taken his sight. It was a touching and amazing experience, and the little boy passed away not long after that day.

A dear friend suggested that Brea "use her powers for good" in the world of philanthropy, and she has spent the last 20+ years doing just that.

Brea spent over a decade on staff with the AdventHealth Foundation. Following significant success overseeing the initiatives of the cancer institute, Brea was asked to take on the challenge of the children's hospital which was soon to undergo a major re-invention and very large capital campaign.

The next few years resulted in the highlights of her fundraising career: several seven and eight figure gifts, an incredible partnership with Disney, and the building of the beautiful Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children, the first children's hospital in history to bear the Disney name.

Now as a dedicated volunteer, Brea is honored to serve as the Board Chair of AdventHealth for Children, and she was the first female Executive Board Chair of the AdventHealth Foundation. Brea is regularly on stage at major events raising money for important needs in children's health.

Brea and her amazing husband and retired Disney senior executive, Al Weiss, split their time between Orlando, Florida and Park City, Utah. With half of their life spent in Utah, Brea is also proud to also serve on the board of Primary Children's Hospital/ Intermountain Health.

Al and Brea have devoted their time and philanthropy to caring for the sickest of children. Brea often describes herself as an official cheerleader for children's hospitals, but her mentor and minister, Dr. Des Cummings, calls her a "passionary" for children, a title she deeply loves.
