Katie Stretch is a Senior Vice President, Operations at the Walt Disney World Resort and responsible for Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Water Parks, and Mini Golf. In this role, Katie will lead the talented team of Senior Leaders responsible for defining, driving, and delivering on key business strategies and excellent Guest and Cast experiences.
Katie started with the company in 2003 as a professional intern with Ride and Show Engineering while attending the University of Central Florida (UCF). She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a few years later went back to UCF to acquire a Master of Science in Engineering Management. Her career has included assignments at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort as well as multiple global assignments assisting with engineering design and safety process enhancements. Katie has leveraged her diverse expertise to lead multiple teams driving significant contributions within Disney Experiences including leading the Engineering Services teams through the openings of Pixar Pier and Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Her strategic leadership and global experience were essential to advising us during the pandemic, enabling Global Parks and Disney Signature Experiences to reopen while navigating through significant change impacting our guests and Cast. In her previous role, Katie led the Worldwide Safety, Health, Engineering, and Sourcing teams that focused on providing safe and reliable high quality guest experiences at all parks around the world.
Katie is a native to California, is a licensed Mechanical Engineer with the states of Florida and California and has been an awarded a U.S. Patent. Her and her husband have four children.
