5 Things You Didn’t Know About Lori’s Magical Flight

1.When did Lori’s Magical Flight Open?

Lori’s Magical Flight was debuted at the IAAPA Expo in November 2014 and opened at the Village in December of 2014 with a special ceremony to dedicate the ride. Since then Give Kids The World has added another accessible attraction, Kelly’s Sunny Swing, totaling four accessible rides at the Village!

2. Who donated the attraction?

Alberto Zamperla, an incredibly generous man who owns the Italian ride manufacturing company “Zamperla” donated Lori’s Magical Flight to Give Kids The World Village!

3. Is the ride accessible?

The ride has not only two wheelchair accessible vehicles, but also features hand cranks instead of foot pedals that control the rider’s ability to soar up and down.

4. Who operates Lori’s Magical Flight?

Give Kids The World relies on more than 1,800 volunteers each week to operate the 84-acre nonprofit resort. One of these shifts is operating Lori’s Magical Flight! After training on ride operations and safety, volunteers are ready to work this accessible attraction.

5. Who is Lori?

Lori’s Magical Flight was named and dedicated in memory of Lori Skloff, a former Give Kids The World wish child who later moved to the area so that she could volunteer. Lori often volunteered with many of our Entertainment programs and venues.

While the Village is temporarily closed, Give Kids The World is committed to creating the Happiness that inspires Hope in wish kids all over the world. Recently we had the pleasure of surprising wish kid Addalyne with a FaceTime ride on Lori’s Magical Flight! For children like Addalyne who are waiting for their wish, Give Kids The World represents hope – that one day they won’t have to worry about hospital stays and treatments.

We’re doing all we can to #GiveHopeToWishes and you can too! By donating today, you can help fund special surprises and future wishes. Donate now.
