3 Reasons to Volunteer on your Central Florida Summer Vacation

As school comes to a close for students around the country, excitement builds as families plan their summer vacations. Central Florida – the theme-park capital of the world – sees lots of summer tourists. In fact, Visit Orlando recently announced that Orlando was America’s most visited destination in 2017, welcoming a record-breaking 72 million visitors!

If you’re planning a trip to Central Florida, we know a fun activity to add to the agenda … volunteering! We’re here to share three reasons why volunteering can make your summer vacation more meaningful.

1. Family Bonding

Giving back is a great way to grow closer. You can make memories that last a lifetime as you bring joy to deserving families, many of whom have never been on vacation due to health concerns. Trust us: There’s no better feeling than making a child smile.

2. Learning Experience

Volunteering is a great way to teach kids valuable life lessons. They’ll learn what it means to be generous, kind, and hardworking – while giving them an exciting experience, too!

3. Become Part of the Village Family

As a GKTW volunteer, you’re not just one of those 72 million visitors. You’re a valued part of our Village family – a community of selfless individuals like yourself. You’ll return home knowing you’re part of something special and feeling confident you made a difference in the lives of families coping with critical illnesses.

Give Kids The World makes it easy to fit volunteering into your schedule. You can go from watching the parade on Walt Disney World® Resort’s Main Street U.S.A®, to being in a parade for yourself, right here on The Avenue! You’ll be sure to bring lots of smiles and fun to some very brave kids.
