Ambassadors of Hope

Give Kids The World provides wish families the unique and priceless gift to experience a week of magical memories that will last forever. Thanks to our corporate and individual supporters, GKTW can continue upholding its promise of never turning away a child whose wish is to visit the Central Florida attractions. Many of our treasured supporters came to know the Village by way of a story. Alumni wish families who share their stories of strength, courage and a carefree week of hope leave lasting impressions on the listeners.

GKTW knows that no one can tell our stories better than our alumni families – those who have experienced it firsthand. The GKTW Ambassador Family Program helps spread awareness for the Village to corporate partners, volunteers and a global community.

Ambassador Families are often invited to GKTW fundraisers and special events in their communities as Guests of Honor. It makes a true difference to have local wish families attend events for GKTW to help communicate who we are and what we do. It leaves a lasting impact on everyone who attends.

Ambassador events can be a variety of fun opportunities. Wish child, Ciara, and her family attended a GKTW fundraiser at the Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Kansas. This event included an ice cream extravaganza and a meet and greet with the cast of Starlight Theater’s Disney’s The Little Mermaid. “My family loved it!” said wish father, Tim.

Long time Ambassadors and Village Angels, the Loewen family has attended events such as the Princess America Pageant Gala and Hearts of Reality. “It always makes me laugh a little when I am thanked for sharing our experience and support of the Village. The reason I find that humorous is because it really is our pleasure and we really are grateful for the opportunity. I know that there are not a lot of people who have the same chances as we have had, and I appreciate each one. GKTW has given me and my family an incredible gift of being able to honor Noah’s life and memory while at the same time promoting GKTW,” said wish father, Brad.

Alumni wish child, Timothy, throws the first pitch at a Miami Marlins game with his friends Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

As Universal Orlando Resort began to promote the opening of Transformers: The Ride 3D at Universal Studios Florida, Ambassador wish child, Timothy, was asked to join Optimus Prime and Bumblebee for the throwing of the first pitch at a Miami Marlins game. “Timothy was so excited. He practiced all week and couldn’t wait to tell his friends at school,” said wish mom, Denise.
