Good Morning America Visits GKTW

in The Village Experience

It was an early but exciting morning at Give Kids The World Village, as the crew from Good Morning America came by to reveal the new Memory Makers’ Building. Ty Pennington and our friends from Walt Disney World remodeled the old administration building to turn it into the new home of Volunteer Services, as well as our Memory Market gift shop. It may have been a little cold this morning, but everyone’s excitement kept them warm as the crew got into place.

gma_fullThe volunteer Angels were very excited to see the new space they’ll call home when they’re at the Village.

Lots of our volunteer Angels from Disney were on hand to celebrate with us.

A few alumni wish families braved the cold weather to be a part of a milestone in Give Kids The World history.

Finally, the moment arrived and it was time for everyone to see the Memory Makers’ Building for the first time.

Princess Alyssa poses in front of the first thing you see when you walk through the front doors – a beautiful mural made up of hundreds of photos of our Angels from throughout the years.

Next, the beautiful lounge and kitchen area, where volunteers can come relax before or after their shift.

They also gave us an amazing new gift shop called the Memory Market.

We are so excited about our new Memory Makers’ Building. We can’t wait for everyone to come see the beautiful space. Thank you to our friends at Walt Disney World, ABC, Buena Vista Construction Company, GAF Roofing, West Elm, Knoll and everyone who made this new building possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, it was an amazing day.
